by sagonzales, 2/23/2011 11:29 PMIn my Inclusion class, we use boardmaker pictures for our class schedule. Our students live by a schedule to know what is going on and if there is a change in the schedule they know.
We also use a get ready rubric before a lesson: That says, thinking caps on, listening ears, eyes on the teacher, quiet mouth, hands in your lap.
We also show students hand held pictures on a ring that has pictures of what they should be doing.
Ex: walking, quiet mouth, sitting criss cross, hands in lap, etc. If we see a student that is off task, we can show them the pictures to remind them of what they should be doing.
During a lesson, I use boardmaker pictures at the top of my pocket chart to show what I am doing in my lesson.
Ex: Get ready, Write my objective, sing a song, read word wall etc. it changes depending on what I am teaching.
